Interview with Brendon Kenny, Director & Founder, Ellonstone Group

Wirral should once again aim for city status with Birkenhead at the heart, according to some of the city’s business leaders and stakeholders.

Insider held a round table at Wirral Chamber of Commerce’s Egerton House in Birkenhead that was attended by the likes of Tranmere Rovers owner Mark Palios, serial entrepreneur Brendon Kenny, Steve Parry of ION Developments, Dean Patton of Big Heritage and Paula Basnett of Wirral Chamber.

Insider editor Simon Keegan caught up with Brendon Kenny after the event and heard: “Liverpool has been a dominant player with Capital of Culture and Wirral/Wallasey/Birkenhead has been the poor neighbours and a steady decline but what we have seen from Wirral Council is ambition.

“It will only come together if people start to believe in what we’ve got, and Birkenhead City status - wow that would be brilliant!”
